Member 12afael here has the complete project (I think). Perhaps if you search a little. I think he has a pdf with a PCB and schematic etc. IIRC there was everything you need. A member livingnote here can perhaps help you with PCB etching if you aren't making it yourself.

However, I'm not so sure about amaziness of the pedal. Perhaps mine is a dud, but I doubt that... However, everybody is used to work with sansamps, so if you walk into a studio as a session player, you must have one these days..

Edit: the project file is here

Perhaps you could try to contact 12afael and ask him if he has higher-resolution pcb artwork available.

I wouldn't say to get a distortion pedal instead (a sansamp is a recording preamp/DI really that -can- do distortion and drive your amp among other things), but -perhaps- this could be a chance to debate the possibility of mods and improvements to the original device.

I'm not touching my original unit, however, it crossed my mind in past to clone it and modify some things.

Perhaps It would be best to PM 12afael because IIRC he played with these things before.

Edit: @KidSquid have you tried to wrestle with tech21 repair dept yet?

Thanks for the link good man! I will definitely look him up.

That schematic also looks excellent! I need to learn to etch a PCB board  ;D.

If you need someone to etch, look here for member "livingnote".

He apparently likes to etch PCBs much much more than you.

Try to contact him and ask if he can etch you a good board from the layout in the 12afaels PDF.. Get him to make you the "black" board, these look really good. He had some sort of a "gallery" here but I can't find it atm (..a bit lazy, too).

Anyhow, this should be enough to get you started.

Edit: The "gallery" is still there in the linked thread, it's just that the pictures didn't open on my first try - for some reason or another..

Edit2: And here's 12afaels' original sansamp thread..

I see. No drill here, so I'm going to have to perf board this. The schematic is great though, thank you very much.

A question to 12afael: Do you have perhaps a hi-resolution graphics for pcb-layout?

I think I can make a pdf right from eagle (not in photoshop like the actual) that is vector Image, that should have "all" the resolution.

or is better a gif, jpeg, bmp, tif??? 800dpi???

Rafael

vector, bmp, tif ... whatever is easier

just NOT jpeg - because its compression smears the edges.

sorry for the delay , here is the pcb in pdf format, you can open it in photoshop if you want it in other format.

I don´t have a way of test the size, my printer is not working, it should be ok but please someone check it.

best regards

Rafael
