Just resurrecting this thread as i still need to diy a attenuator. Luckily i have a 4 pole 25 position switch laying around. So i want to build a stepped attenuator and a speaker selection switch as i have 2 pairs of speakers.
I guess the best way to go is using the data on the goldpoint homepage. The series attenuator looks good to me. Now i am just wondering which values from the sheets i should use ? Is there any scheme on how deciding which you need ? 5k ? 10k ? Also i plan on using metalfilm 1% resistors. Is there a need for buying more of them and matching them or is 1% tolerance fine ?
Thanks for all the answers.
