Interested. Purusha has a sample somewhere on his site of a pultec that has a neve amp inside. I liked it more than the same thing, but tube version which he shot against. I'll duck now :p

Good idea. Cases.

AND.......
Here is COOL thing.
This EQ is STEPPED. Not 21(23) steps ELMA's, BUT the steps are small enough, and
Lorlins are cheap but good working solution.....

MS MODE PCB with relays. Let me know about this,
if you like to add LR->MS->MS->LR to bundle (the price will remain almost same).
I.e. there's LR/MS switch, EQ can be used in both modes....

MS MODE - YES YES!!! Creates so much flexibility in mixing and sound... :)  Though i'm not wild about relays. I prefer old fashioned toggle and regular switching instead.

How many steps can we get out of Lorlins?  I would prefer board mounted Elmas.

i'm in just for 2xMake-Up PCB + power supply PCB as stereo set.
i like use it for the MEQ5 network.

can i use your Make up for racking a pairs of Neve8108?
I have a pair of VT24499

Thx

Ahem....Don't afraid those relays. They are easier than switch.
Just count, for LR/MS conversion we need 3PDT switch (at least).
To convert MS to LR we need same 3pdt. Wiring going from trunny's to front panel
and back-12 shielded pairs in total, correct if me wrong. Honestly, too lazy to do it.

Lorlins: 1db steps IMHO is OK with most of us. Modyfy'able for the steps you want.
PCB's are already designed for Lorlin switches.
You can easy take one of many other projects available here and put ELMA's or Uraltone switches.

I don't know what is 8108, hopefully, something strange with N letter.
Feel free to pm or post link to schemo, will try to figure out :)
Makeup PCB offered is the output stage of BA283. I.e. 3 transistors+some electronic crap
which supposed to drive right way gapped trunny, the making SOUND thing :)

Yes, these PCB's will be offered separately, makeup and PS are available right now.

Ah yes...I added MS-in future to topic name :)

So nice, here is the way for my solid state part in the MEQ5;)
Still wait to know is the 283 is good as makeup for the 8108 before order.
i'll post you the schemo of the N*v* channelStrips  when i received them and xfrms very soon maybe at the end of the week ;)

thx Igors

I updated front panel drawing, for MS option.

The price will be about USD150-160 for stereo bundle of PCB's.

Hi Igor,

I'm in for a full kit.

MS is MS and non correct? Meaning if I get MS that it's switchable.

i think he meant switchable MS -> LR modes

niice eq i want one too!! but broke from Gssl's construction!!  :'( will have to wait

I WANT ONEEEE!! i need a passive eq for my studio!!
count me in as interested!! is it simple to build ?? (for a TOTAL noob like me)

WITH MS TOTALY wouldnt have it any other way!!

i want one !!! but i dont know if i  can deal with it right now :( pretty swamped in work and since we arent all prodigys like u that can handle tons of projects at once ;D but if its mastering quality and noise ratio as low as holland id take one to fill up in the future!!

will u do kits of pcb with rack front piece (plate?? rack front thingy engraved)

just a question is this similar to the calrec eq ive seen around?

cheers man thanks !!

What exactly is M/S in these units? I always thought it was regarding mic placement using 3 mics?  ???

it is like a matrix to decode the Mid/Side information from a LR stereo signal. pretty old and common technique, but still a very useful tool. M=L+R, S=L-R
