The interesting question here is how might vibration isolation effect the THD produced in a tube circuit (especially a mic)driven at high spl's .

Mic arrived safe and sound .
In pretty good nick , cant have seen much use .
General build quality seems good enough , but capsule placement within the headshell is a bit off centre to the grill , could do with being around 10mm lower . Theres also a noticeable resonance in the tube and the horizontal board its mounted on , takes about a second to die away , it has a distinct lower midrange note to it ,so id imagine there would be some unfavourable interactions depending on source/SPL .

The shockmount needed re-assembly , didnt have a chance to test it for sound just yet ,but I got it sold as seen , so no comebacks either way .

The kind of Chinese tube used in this mic you also find in many China made guitar amps , I suspect the 'bad vibe' is primarily due to that . Ive seen many brand new or nearly new tubes of the same manufacture with horrible resonances , I did try the usual double O rings around the glass , makes a small improvement but still no where near what you'd be wanting .

I powered up afore-said mic , appears to function ok , wack loads of level even at minimum gain on mic input on a standard modern mixer , I didnt even have a set of phones handy to be able do a basic soundcheck as all my stuff is in transit or out of reach just now .
'I'll be back' as the man said.
