How is the noise level of the mic with the Flat 47? Looking at the 219/319 circuit, there is no voltage doubler so the voltage on the capsule is not going to be 60V. I am not an expert, but I would "guess" that the noise would be a little higher. It gets down to the whole polarizing voltage thing that comes up from time to time. I have a number of MK319 mics with original capsules and have not found them to be that noisy. I wish I had a better understanding.

Sensitivity (hence output) will be a little lower yes, and a little more noisy, depending on mic preamp and required gain setting as well. But in practical experience, with most people using these to close mic stuff, it shouldn't be an issue. Personally, one of those lovely sounding oktava 219/319 capsules or Ari's flat 47 in an Opa or Opic circuit, with a little higher PV, will definetly be an interesting experiment worth trying more though.

Is there something like an m49 shape with the non-parallel faces in a dual capsule configuration? I am looking for something that would be relatively transparent for a stereo MS/Blumlein configuration. At the moment I still think a single body is better, but if the internal mechanical arrangement gets too complicated maybe the old standby of two singles mounted head-to-head in an external bracket is the fall-back plan.

I‘m not able to see the status of my order on the new site. I could on the old one. Any chance to put it into my (new) customer account?
Unfortunately no, our back end hasn't changed so all of the orders are still there and safe but you need to email me to request information on them if you need it. The data was not migrated to the new frontend due to the fact that the old store was based on a store subscription service and the new store is custom. Orders in the back end are still right where they were before and new orders combine automatically when necessary, you just can't see it on your end. Sorry about that
Ok no problem. My K87 order is from Sept, 1 but i‘m still confident i will get them one day
if nothing else goes wrong (a seemingly tall order these days) you will get them next week

Good question, I have a stock Oktava Mk219 that I can compare it to some time in the next week or so, or at least the sensitivity. My knee jerk thought is that it's about the same sensitivity gain wise, but I'm not sure about self noise. It's not any noisier to my ear, but all of my testing has been informal. I don't have an acoustically isolated chamber to test self noise, but I can do some side by side comparisons some time.

as of this evening, all flat k47 orders to current day have shipped. only k87s remain. international customers should be getting their capsules within 10 days.
