I'm on ebay.co.uk is there a non teflon alternative? I like to avoid it, it's a toxic compound. Is it used as the casing for the wire?

Teflon seems to be stable when not heated up.

I'm going to look for an alternative now..

Also anyone got any ideas for the filter caps?

Going to examine the circuit today.

My digital multimeter arrived! A Uni-T! Could a bridging circuit ot rig be made to test the caps properly at high-z?

Grooves, when you say 22 gauge for other do you mean other parts of circuit, can you explain?

28 Awg wire ordered, I went for silicon.

Hi all. Can anyone give me a UK link to replacements for the two filter caps I will run some mic wire and test the capsule with another known working capsule on another mic instead of taking the capsule out of either. Good idea? I guess I could run some extra wire to a switch on another identical working mic without taking either out of situ too?

Then I will look at the caps.

And also are there any other suspect caps to look at?

How many capacitors are in total for a recap and please what types and best place to buy them?

Will look at the mic later today and hoping for a dry solder joint or a loose wire..
