Alright, I have decided against a more "vintage" high shelf and have tried to get it as close as possible to the 5033. Rupert Neve himself has called the 1073 his "own worst enemy" (see below) and as far as I can tell the MZ-15-RN was most likely a step towards the later 9098 and the 5033 after that. So it wouldn't feel right to aim for the pinnacle of Rupert Neve's modern EQ designs and then put a 1073 high shelf in it.I've tuned the low shelf to basically match the 5033. Now it's only the high shelf that I need to decide how to tune. I feel like the Mozart RN/9098/5033 have comparably steep high shelves and something more gradual, like a 1073 or Siemens W295b where you can boost the high shelf *a lot* and it still sounds natural, would be more useful...
