The price seems to vary all the time. I just asked for 4 pcs, and they gave me this price. Last time they asked 50$ for shipping. I have no idea.

Don't know what that third curve is  about

Capsules have arived. Look way different than other ck12 replicas. They sound nothing like regular chinese capsule with colored plastic backplates. They have slightly rolled off low end which makes midrange come though. They are less bright than their k67.

And the other side of the medal.

Looks familiar. The Rode NT1000 has this capsule. And I thought they were making their own capsules...

Sounds not as bright and peaky as most chinese capsules. Still this one needed serious help to sound it´s best.

Old thread, but the 797 capsule that kingkorg posted is not the same capsule on the Rode NT1000.
That can easily and clearly be seen in the pictures.

The 797 capsule has 26 holes, the NT1000 capsule has more than 50...

No, they are not the same. However they seem to have common design origin. Their sdc capsules as well. They do not sound the same, there are different tweaks to them, an they evolved in different directions i'd say.

I don't really know if the common design origin is not only that they're both edge terminated capsules, and are LD capsules and the starting point is a limited number of designs.

They don't seem to be made in the same factory, they have different hardware and materials (look the screws and the colour of the plastic).

Those measurements of the 797 edge terminated capsules look great. Now I get what you mean when you say they're consistent. I've seen matched pairs vary more.

I can't find images of Slate ML1 internals. But from what i've seen, and some measurements i am pretty sure that 797's edge terminated capsule is in ML1.

I know I'm cheap, but wishing to find a couple nice examples of Guosheng K47 style capsules either in donor mics or 797? Hmmm. I'm going to get an M7 direct from him soon too, but looking to replace capsules in a couple reverb chamber mics with schoeps style circuits? Like $50 a capsule would be nice.

Hello DIY’ers, could you guys please help me identify this capsule? It is in a Studio Projects C1. I have two of them. I thought they’d be 797 Audio K67’s, but they look different than the photos I have seen. There seems to be only one side to the capsule, is it cardioid-only? I want to use these in u67 multi-pattern builds but it appears I gambled and lost on these mics. What is this capsule?

Thanks!
Matt

if it's still got a metal spacer in the middle, you could carefully take the plastic halves off and join the two metal halves into one working k67, with a single one of the metal spacers in the middle. dismount the capsule and take out the long middle screws in the groups of 3 screws on both sides, then carefully separate the two halves and show us what's between them

I believe these have plastic spacer between the halves. Yes, you can join two halves together as Solilo suggested, just make sure the "through" holes you will see once you dismantle the capsule don't align once you join the two halves.

I hope that makes sense, maybe some of you native English speakers could formulate this better. You shouldn't be able to see light coming through the capsule. You can see even with assembled stock capsule that the holes of the transparent plastic capsule aren't placed directly over the holes of the metal backplate.

What would be the change or goal doing this?

Also it seems to me this capsule has been tampered with. The plastic transparent half seems to have the holes widened, and lack two screws. Someone tried to make it more hypercardioid?
