You must be right - my example is much brighter than TSB-2555.

I have no idea where these come from, and what production tolerances are, could be i was just lucky.

The omni is legendary for how quiet it is, but all these Primos - EM21, 23, 50 have a quite 'hard' sound to my ears.

I'm interested in doing this but interfacing to a 3.5 mm.

I was thinking:
Mic capsule->ina217->active bandpass-> 3.5mm

I would like to power the op amps with USB power on a single rail. I'm not sure how PC mic line in samples data. Is it dc coupled? As in I would need to lift the mic signal on about 1VDC?

Ina has too low input impedance, you need it to be in gigaohms. Unless your capsule has built in fet.

ah ok High input to get the signal across. That explains the fet + 1G resistor in the alice circuit. I see ina217 has 60m ohm differential input impedance but I will look for a 1g input resistance Thank you!
