I have a 15 IPS tape recorder with NAB rec/play EQ. But I would like it to have IEC correction...
Because I don't want to change the recorder electronics, I am thinking to build an external box to do the corrections.
My goal is to change both record and play EQ to the IEC norm, so the recorder will behave as an IEC tape recorder.
I found this: http://laocaudiosociety.net/tech/NABtoIEC.pdf
This will probably work, but it is passive, so it will cause a level drop.
Also, it is playback only.
I would like to create a buffered version of this (so that impedances don't play an important role anymore), with the record EQ added.
Of course I could use OpAmps before and after the filter, but maybe there is a more elegant solution.
Any ideas?
