Folks,

I have a bunch of pcb's that the fab forgot to v-score, giving me 4 circuits on a pcb that I cant split after production.

if any of you would lie some practice soldering surface mount, let me know. Cover my postage and we'll be cool.

I'll give it a week. Then they get flung.

Cheers

I'd be interested to sit down and really see what it's like to do SMT work.

Should we all be sending PM's??

Thanks,
Michael

I score my PCBs with my CNC mill and an encraving bit.
I clamp a piece of scrap MDF to the CNC table, with a wooden ruler/edge to rest the PCBs against.
I just hold the PCB down,  and move the mill in one direction (X or Y) manually with the up/down keys of the keyboard.
I score both sides, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the board deep,  for a thinner line and a cleaner look.
Afer breaking them apart, I slide the sides of the boards once or twice over a piece of medium grid sandpaper that I have glued (PVA) to a piece of MDF.
Quick and easy.
Leo..
