My tech mistook meter leads for the component tester leads to measure for 220 volts AC. Result, no reading on the meter and big bang and flash from the 'scope. I've narrowed the problem down (so far) to the component tester board (1 watt & smd resistor fried, and tracks) and the x/y board (looks like protection circuitry transistors - so hopefully minor faults. Anyone with circuit diagrams for these? I have downloaded the 303-5 found on the internet, but they're just not right. Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like you blew up your scope...Too Bad

You can try and fix the fried resistors and blown caps, BUT if something else blew up, like a CRT, you may have some major repairs to do!

Your probably better off gettin another used scope

Trainee tech !! I emailed support @ hameg and asked for the circuit diagrams for the relevant boards... they sent me 2 pdf's with ALL the circuits ! I must admit I wasn't even expecting a response, but what a bonus. So I guess I've got some work to do this weekend! Thanks for your responses, people - I could be back on Monday !
