Fwiw I never liked the 350/351 as a preamp and is best suited as originally designed, for tape electronics duties.

Yeah, I have one that I got already hacked up about 15 years ago for peanuts and did the EA mods, and added a couple other features. I like it for basically two things, and it gets used less than any other pre in my rack. It’s worth the $400 total I have invested in it, but I certainly wouldn’t pay today’s insane prices for one. I’m sure somewhere there’s a clown who swears the gold-plated WA mic through the WAMPX is the best combo ever.

Without mods there's a lot of stuff in there you don't need? A friend bought a couple and paid to have them " gone over "
I said " show me an interview where someone used it as their main mic pre? " I don't know if I've ever seen that, sure, used as mono & two track masters. I'm surprised there's enough of a market for warm to produce it!
