point to point

i havent built any projects yet, and havent seen the insides of much gear. im curious how point to point works. could someone post some photos and maybe explain some basics of layout when working this way?

Point to point is cool for prototyping, and how many of our boxes are prototypes from the get go, most of mine at least, since I really only need one of everything, possibly two for stereo, but even a run of two makes point to point motre pratical.
And you can tweak a point to point project a lot easier, since you won't have circuit board traces to worry about , lifting off the board from too much heat, ressoldering, etc.
