I have a Lexicon PCM 42 on my bench and in trouble shooting it, 1/2 of the power transformer is not working correctly. Its a custom job for Lexicon with two sets of center tapped outputs. Because of size restraints, I’m hoping to find someplace that could dig in and potentially rewind it.

I contacted Mercury Magnetics and they had no interest in helping out with digital gear transformers.

I would be amazed if they still supported a PCM 42.
Agreed, but they might have the relevant part lying around on a shelf somewhere. I got lucky a couple of years ago with Aphex, who just happened to have a spare toroid for an old Compellor 300 in a storeroom. Worth asking the question.

I‘ve not contacted Lex, worth a try. I’ve also need to call a midwest repair shop that is rumored to work on them.

I’ve kicked around options without finding a transformer, there is limited space for internal options unfotunately.

Mercury Magnetic seem a bit niche/specialised for something like this imho, they mainly seem to make power and output transformers for tube amps, and expensive ones at that.

Maybe give Edcor or Heyboer a call?

I double checked the transformer and pulled it out of circuit. In the end the transformer was still ok, and it was a set of diodes that had failed in the psu. Thanks for all the input and if needed Whoops, i would have taken you up on the offer.
