Theres a Chinese knock off of the basic magnetic tensioner , around 100 on ebay ,
but you do also find original Tanac units on the second hand market for around the same money , mainly in the US .

They have a variation with a pneumatic piston , it uses electronic feedback to stabilise the tension better than the purely magnetic sort , then your upto the servo controled tensioners .

Hi everyone, Seasonal greetings.

There is work going on with the project. I have been working on a kivy gui using the rpi lcd to make a stand-alone (no keyboard or monitor necessary) and because it doesn't need the desktop (windows type) it will run on the , almost , available lower model raspberry pi.

There's a v2 PCB designed , because I cocked up the rx/tx lines to the pi.

But most/all is actually on the github page to build a winder. I do not intend to make a kit.
