Headbaskets like B3 create usually a notch somewhere in the high midrange. But there are exception to the rule if the capsule is well positioned like in Manley Ref Cardioid where this doesn't happen.
You just got me curious, how can you make that work in the B3?

People are reporting that there was an issue with the ring pouring and some of them have rings that are bigger than the backplate which is causing the diaphragm to wrinkle on some but not all capsules when installed into the saddle. I apologize and If this happens to you you can contact me for a free replacement. I'm going to be honest, I don't think I can tolerate outsourcing these capsules anymore. At least not in the traditional sense to people I don't know. I've been considering a move to in-house production for a long time. I'll update you guys more on this later
I just untightened the center screw after mounting, to let the diaphragm relax, and then retightened it (just a bit). It seems to sound fine in a C12 microphone.

I just put one of the flat K47 capsules into a C12 circuit (Matador) and it sounds like velvet (in a good way). I like them in everything that I have put them in so far: U47 (Oliver's alternate) with EF802; FET847 (0dbfs/poctop); OPIC multi-pattern (rogs).

Thanks for the great capsules, @soliloqueen!
Roger's OPIC MP, that is also going to be my next builds with these capsules, a pair, once they are available again. I bet they will become my workhorses.

I'm curious about the FET847. Versatile mic? What do you use it on?

I have a friend looking for a first build project. She swapped a flat 47 into a EF800 U47 (replaced a Beesneez K7) with me and loved the flat 47. I figured the FET847 with a flat 47 would be a great first build.

I don't know what you mean. What is "too many"? Never heard of too many when it comes to mics
I have too many other nice mics that get used instead.

I just plugged the FET847 in for a quick test again and it does sound nice with the Flat K47. I implemented an internal omni switch, which is why I replaced the single-sided capsule that was in it. It does not seem to be really "colored" in any way, just smooth, clear LDC goodness.

What mic body did you use for the fet847 dogmemory? I'm thinking of doing the same circuit but need room for the cheaper Cinemag U47 transformer.

That one is in an old MXL 440 donor body. Poctop sells a board that will fit into a BM700/800 or something like the Arycle bodies.

Okay, cool. I actually have two MCA Sp-1 mics which look like exactly the same body as the MXL 440. I think I'll go for these then. I also have BM700, but it seems like there is more room in the MCA headbasket, as well as the body.

I could try to export Russian tubes such as 6S6B and others from Russia and your capsules to Russia, but I need to think about it and talk to my friends, I am from Siberia, Krasnoyarsk))

The hostaphan dealer in Germany got back to me Friday saying that they have no stock of the film after invoicing me. That is to say, they spent a over a week (2 weeks? I can't remember. I've been burning the candle at both ends) quoting me for the cost of the plastic, the labor of slitting, the delivery and everything and gave me a final invoice and only when I decided to pay did they actually check whether they had it in stock or had any incoming stock. They didn't and don't. No estimate on ever having it in stock again. Ridiculous. At least I actually replied to my emails and calls, unlike Hostaphan US. DuPont responded immediately and I have 6um Mylar in hand. Effortless transaction. Not my preference but it's still better than than the film from the last batch
