Yes!👍
I'm curious how it compares. What version do you have, WA87? I have WA87r2, new, with Cinemag CM-13113, and 2N3819 Fairchild, capsule I think is 3U, sounds good with its own personality, but with Arienne K87 v2.0 I'm sure it would be exceptional!
(the only noticeable difference compared to the historical reference model, would be the geometry of the headbasket, shape and size, grille density, the position of the capsule, etc, etc., the details related to the microacoustics).
👍

About a year ago, I unknowingly purchased one of these K87’s, and have recently discovered it was the work of Soliloqueen. I used it to replace the capsule in my very early Miktek C7, from back when Oliver Archut was still alive.

One of the techs at Miktek told me Oliver was hand-winding all of the OEM transformers that AMI was supplying to Miktek at the time. Of course I can’t verify that in any way, BUT, I can say that this mic absolutely slays everything I put in its way, and is easily my favorite mic. It often ends up as a mono overhead for drums on a live music show that I engineer, but has done equally fantastic work on acoustic guitars and vocals.

I did some not-very-scientific before and after capsule swap freq plots and recordings. Happy to share them if anyone is interested.

After these 50 retail units go out there will be a little bit of delay because we blew through all our back plates meeting volume orders and have to wait for our machine shop to make more, but in the meantime we're starting production on enough flat k47s to replace all of the ones from the previous batch plus over 100 more. once those come in they should stay in stock for a while. Pre-order fulfillment will be in order from longest to shortest wait of course.

I haven't been on here in a while, just dropping into this thread to catch up on the status of capsules. Got my U47 build telling me "now that your Christmas shows are over, you should finish me!"
We have rolling stock right now so some people will get orders earlier but everything will be back in stock (and lots of it, hundreds of units) by January 15th and will ship out probably in the last week of January.

Soliloqueen, will K87 v2.0 be in stock?
Yes, we received the mylar film a couple weeks ago and we're renting out a facility to coat it in bulk. Just for fun I also had new templates made that are the same size as the Neumann ones. I don't think it matters but if I'm going to be bulk coating a crap ton of film all at once I might as well.

Great, very much looking forward to it. Any status on the standard K47 production?

everything is done, we just need to actually start making it. this is primarily a money issue. i spent all of my "project" money migrating facilities and training the new staff. the rest is already allocated (money to refund people, money for replacement units, etc). if the business does as well post-relaunch as it did before i ran into these issues, I should have enough money to launch the standard K47 by March. I appreciate the patience from everyone in solving all of this. Completely ditching a contract manufacturer and starting over from scratch with your own staff during during your post-launch order rush is risky--stupid, even--but there are some compromises I am just not willing to make.

That’s awesome! I am stoked to hear you will be doing a standard K47. With the quality you are known for (and I can attest), this will be the ticket for DIY builds. Ordering some K87’s this week!

Just tried swapping a Maiku 87 capsule with the Ari 87 in an OPR Umod 87. I originally swapped the original capsule ( some people called this the magic capsule) for the Maiku which did make a difference but not as much as I thought it would of, but definitely a better quality to it..... well back to the Maiku v the Ari 87 the Ari is much better than the Maiku, fuller through the whole frequency range, really happy ... the Maiku is destined for ebay Thank you very much again to Ari/

soliloqueen please do a C12 cap next

. . . once those come in they should stay in stock for a while. . . .

Hmmm ... Ahem ... According to my favorite Economics Professor, once supply is up, and initial demand is met, the price should come down to induce additional sales ... er ... um ... right? :) James/K8JHR

everyone says they're too cheap. I've heard it 4 times just this month! Since we're no longer assembling at a factory, the price may go up a little as I get a better understanding of how much all this costs, but the K87 will still be under $200.

currently trying to wrangle with how to do DDP shipping to europe post relaunch as like 80% of orders pre-relaunch were above the IOSS value cap (Almost everybody buys matched pairs). Reverb and ebay are convenient as they handle this automatically, but I am on my own with my own site.
