I just pre-orderered a first "Flat" 47 from your site.
From what i understood there, shipping and customs may be affordable for France (as far as there are no customs complications). I could shop later for bigger quantities, so maybe then customs could be an issue ?
BTW, i have no clue when this order would be ready for shipping, is it possible to have an estimation ? :)

Just tried swapping a Maiku 87 capsule with the Ari 87 in an OPR Umod 87. I originally swapped the original capsule ( some people called this the magic capsule) for the Maiku which did make a difference but not as much as I thought it would of, but definitely a better quality to it..... well back to the Maiku v the Ari 87 the Ari is much better than the Maiku, fuller through the whole frequency range, really happy ... the Maiku is destined for ebay Thank you very much again to Ari/

soliloqueen please do a C12 cap next

Since my name was mentioned in this thread I'll clarify.
The O.P.R 87 U-mod (now discontinued) is not the same mic as my O.P.R Plan 8 Ultra(formally known as the O.P.R U87 1:1 clone)
They have totally different circuit and capsule. The 87 U-mod has a Chinese capsule which sounds pretty good for the price point. The Plan 8 Ultra capsule is made in 100% made in house and sounds
accurate to older 70's units upon which it's modeled.

The flat k47s are going to be done a little bit early! Just over a week from now. The k87 v2, it depends on when our actual slot to coat the film is. We are renting it out kind of short notice so we do not have priority scheduling at the lab. It's looking like the capsules will done at the end of January though. I wish I could have done all this ahead of time so I could focus on assembly and make more retail orders but I've been living order to order from OEM clients. Relaunching at the new workshop took basically every spare dollar I've got. We are assembling the flat k47s now and having those back in stock (and all current orders shipped) should get things greased.

should i change the mounting holes to m1.6 for future models and batches? currently they are all m1.4. it was easier just to use the same specs for every screw hole on the capsule.

Edit: currently baking the desiccant packets for the flat k47 boxes to do final packing. We are basically done!

What diameter does Neumann use for the mounting holes?
(Technologically, in large production, for reasons of efficiency, engineers prefer to use as many similar components as possible, if they do not affect the functionality of the product)

My vote would be for 1.7 to in common with all the Chinese capsules.

Great news, soliloqueen …

This is incredibly exciting !!!

I cannot wait to install your Flat 47’s in my pair of Dan’s (poctop) D-EF47’s !

And my pair of Dan’s D-67’s are anxiously awaiting your 67/87 caps to ship, too !

Now … try to remember to grab some obviously much needed rest any chance you get !!!

Best Regards !!!

I'm not 100% sure what mine is but when I tried to mount the capsule, the screw head broke off while tightening. Had to rotate the capsule to mount it. I'd say go to the 1.6m.

+1
Hi Ari! I hope this is not a stupid question: Can the capsules come with the frequency response graph for each half, front and back? (Possibly by email to avoid complications related to printing, etc.)
Our current setup on the floor is only good for QC relative to a gold reference so the charts aren't super useful. Maybe relative plots for stereo matching are possible? it can't do absolute measurements. I have a more proper setup here but it's not semi automated like the floor rig. Our budget is pretty low right now. I'll set up more visually appealing graphs later

I understand the situation perfectly.
Importantly, the current configuration allows correct evaluation against a reliable reference and therefore consistency, close matching.
Another aspect that I have thought about a lot would be the possibility of organizing a buying group for Europe, or a regional sales center, for capsules and other future Arienne products. Perhaps one of the valuable members of diygroup already has a functioning business selling components, kits, etc.
I think it would be beneficial for everyone.
Thank you very much for the answer, for the kindness and for all the efforts and sacrifices made, for the real help offered to DIY enthusiasts.

i have thought about this, but the issue is that over 3/4 of my business is in europe. i can't afford to sell that many capsules at wholesale pricing right now. my new site will have VAT and import duty calculation at checkout and ship DDP so it should avoid additional fees. We also negotiated rates with fedex so we can get quite fast shipping to the EU at under $20
