And whenever the two flat k87’s ship… they will likely do the same for Dan’s two D-67’s !!!

Flat k87? Ari's k87's aren't meant to be a flat version of a k87.

I also saw someone make reference to a "V3" k87 capsule a few pages ago... Isn't this new batch of k87's being designated as "V2"?

Hey Arienne, speaking of the k87's, when do you think they will be ready?

Also, are there any updates on microphone bodies and accessories? Would be sweet to have a more accurate U67/U87 style body for DIY one day!

I believe both of those technical designations which you mentioned (the existence of a “flat k87” as well as the existence of a “V2 k87”) are simply mistakes on the posts. There is no “flat k87” and there is no “V3” k87. I think the former was a simple mistake, and the latter may be related to some confusion created by the fact that as far as I can tell there was a slightly differently manufactured version of the Arienne Audio V2 K87 that had the same specs as the final design with some minor manufacturing changes involved.

As far as a closer u67/87 DIY body, there is a more accurate looking one some guys in this forum area discovered recently but it doesn’t appear to be immediately compatible with Dany’s boards. That doesn’t mean you can’t make them fit though. This is DIY!

SYT-5 looks great though, you can get that one.

running into some interesting charge leaking issues on the k87 again, this time seemingly not related to the screws that link the backplates. it might be an issue with the spacer or some kind of odd contamination issue from the machine shop. it might delay retail k87 orders for a couple weeks while we nail down precisely what's causing it. flat k47 orders are all on schedule. I think it might be humidity-related somehow since it's winter.

Got the Flat47 today and decided to swap it with a duplicate Blue B8 capsule I have (that cap will end up in a cheap 251 clone). Popped it on the Bottle and it's rocking! Here's what it looks like in it's new home, and some audio clips below (with B7 and B8 for comparison).

Got my Flat K47 and installed it in my M49. It really does sound great. I really appreciate that I have the option to add top-end where I want to with this capsule, rather than being stuck with the usual ~5kHz bump. So far, vocals recorded through this sound fantastic with a little bit of a 10kHz lift. Great work @soliloqueen!

chamber spacer had inconsistent squishiness. annoying issue, but easy to solve. I'll source a new one.

Hey, Ari …
I received my two flat k47’s yesterday !
They look amazing … and now I need to play hooky from work so I can install them in my two D-EF47’s !

I can’t wait to hear them !!!
Thank you, Ari !

Best Regards

Hello Soliloqueen, by the way I like your 'handle 'name' very clever! :) Do you talk to yourself much, as I do?
Anyway, I just discovered this thread and I will not read the whole 60+ pages of it but I understand you have an online store, can you direct me to the store?
I am quite impressed by the "flat" K47 as I am not trying to reproduce any vintage newman but I am more into designing circuits for those capsules.
Thank you, Luc
