25 people started check out and only nine people finished it. Is there something up that's causing problems? I think a good chunk of those are my staging checkouts but I want to make doubley sure there's nothing off.

To people that are actually reading the privacy policy:
1. No, I don't take or store geolocation information. Some regulators just consider IP addresses to be geolocation information so the policy is apparently contradictory...
2. The part about being able to share customer information is just so that Josh can fill orders from this site when I'm on vacation 😂 that part ended up particularly ominous for how simple it is so I figured I would clarify here and maybe I'll add a forward to explain why everything is there.

Hello. Congrats on getting the capsules sorted. They look amazing and I look forward to hearing them.

There are a few usability problems in the checkout sequence, that I would predict would lead to abandonment.

1. I get an estimated shipping charge of $158.32 for two capsules and have to enter my card details before getting to select or see shipping options... The shipping charge is unrealistic unless this is some next day Fedex action... but there is no info provided about how that estimate is calculated.

2. the bottom section of the site says 'Next: shipping options / payment information / order confirmation' — this doesn't match the actual process whereby I need to provide payment info and authorise the transaction first.

3. Clicking the MasterCard icon gives a payment form, but this just spins when submitted...

4. I figured, let's try it and I can just cancel later if that is indeed the shipping charge... so I click the PayPal checkout option and authorise via PayPal, but this just takes me back to the same checkout page, with no option to continue... (nothing shows up in PayPal account, not sure where the process is failing)

Hope this feedback is useful and you can get any issues resolved.

Fascinating. Shipping is free anywhere in the world so I wonder how that could happen

I have fixed the shipping charge issue, please try checkout again. Also, disable adblock in case it's messing with the paypal popup somehow. If you still can't pay, I'll switch to STRIPE. I disabled site asset caching for a minute to see if that's the mastercard issue...

The feelgood factor alone has has me hooked,
Visually the quality looks way beyond your run of the mill Shenzen capsule ,
attention to detail on your part Sollio, take a bow to the audience and give yourself a clap on the back at same time for making it happen.

someone made a similar post on PRW and I said this:

"Thank you! engraving the serial numbers was bit of extra work, but it's such a pain for potential OEM customers to do it any other way. Sticker on the capsule? Maybe this is just me but as a mic builder, you BET I'm ripping that off! Sticker on the box? Which box...tons of empty ones lying around. So much faster just to put it directly on the capsule and be done with it...
That was really my approach with the whole design. It needs to sound good, but I also wanted to focus on usability for the mic builder. Wires with Teflon insulation are often used, but they are way too stiff for capsule wires. makes managing them in the basket and routing them to the board annoying (and heaven forbid you need to do a joint in a small space...) Plus, they can vibrate in a way that makes sound under really unfortunate circumstances (pointed out by a client). PVC insulation is softer, but it's not too durable, so I switched to silicone. it's a bit more expensive but the difference is massive."

the SN isn't just on a random place on the capsule, either--it's on the same place on every capsule. It's not covered up by the saddle or cover, so you can read it off while it's installed.

edit: the matching saddle, which is also custom, has one hole in the front and one in the rear, lined up with the backplate holes exactly when they're separated by the shim, so you can terminate both backplates out the bottom when using a u87i circuit and avoid any extra wires in the basket

I'm really glad people appreciate this kind of stuff. So many little things bug the crap out of me...

...Violin... is in my experience [one of the] the hardest instruments to record. Violin is very unforgiving if the player and the instrument are not top class. You have to find a microphone that fits your instrument...

Sennheiser MKH40, on the right instrument (and with the right bow), with a 990-based preamp can be a truly beautiful sound. Great on side-mic'ed bassoon as well.

Ahh I did this - it was to ship the K87 separately - once I'd changed my order paypal got confused so I redid on another machine

I have an original modern Neumann k87 laying around, it seems a bit bass starved and not to keen of the sound, do you think this would be an upgrade? Is is modelled after the vintage version?
