I ordered several PSU boards from JLM audio. Figured I'd source the parts from here, not ship them from Australia.

Now I need a whole bunch of 1000uF electrolytic caps, some 50V some 63V, all 13mm dia or less. Ulp!

Tried Alied, Newark, Digikey, Mouser and some smaller suppliers. Looked at Elna, Nichicon, Vishay, Cornell-Dubilier, Panasonic etc.

In 50V I found a few exceptions, but in 63V all are 16mm or more dia and won't fit the boards.

Any suppliers/manufacturers to suggest? I could order the full kits and wait, but a USA source would sure be faster...

This should go into The Lab, being more of a nuts 'n bolts rather than a theory/design question.

There's more traffic there, so you're more likely to get an answer there, anyway.

With any luck, a moderator will come along and move the thread.

There aren't many if any at all. Go down to 680uf and look into the Nichicon VZ series. You'll only really need 1000uf per amp drawn, so if the caps are paralleled then a couple 680uf would put you over. Use soft recovery fast diodes and your ripple will be less too, allowing you to use less bulk capacitance.

Thanks Svart,

I am planning to use Fairchild soft recovery diodes, based on suggestions from a very smart EE friend who is also a radical hi-fi "removes veils" kind of guy.
