Balanced summer at the bottom. I rarely sum externally these days, but I can. Octal tube pre, fast sounding FET and M1 inspired pre...still work to be done in here.

Galvanized steel sheet, the thinnest I could find. I lost my phone in Dominca Republic with the build pics. Transformer balanced Fet pre, no corners cut. And I kept the amp flat and created and saved a preset for driving it. Dynamically compressing the plate resonance to keep it sounding nice.

K47 came in and is installed. If both capsules are the same, then the circuitry truely influences the sound because this last U47 inspiration sounds even bigger than the one featured in the audio sample I gave. Any tube mic I am building going forward will be active loaded. I think it allows the tube to sound better for a wider part of the dynamic range before all hell breaks loose...some may get what I'm trying to say, lol.
Space is tight in the TLM style case so I'm waiting on one of those usual midget sized transformers they normally offer for mics. I hope it fits.
I ended up building more microphones than I had planned, and at this point I have a couple capsules, to play with in the K47, K87 and edge terminated style, here and on the way. Also three more mic bodies on the way along with misc stuff like screws ( I buy the kits with all sizes, hate when I need something and I don't have it...I don't play that game, hahaha). More pics to come.

More pics! I fired up the solid state circuit and checked voltages. 25V exiting the LND150 and 22V at J1 or 2N3819, I adjusted the source resistance for 11V at the drain, 2.5V at the source respectively and I'm seeing 12V at the source of J2 or PF5102. Everything looks good in the real world and the simulator.

And then we have the Juggernauts, lol. Fixed bias on the left and active loaded on the right. I have a shock mount stuck in transit. K47 flat in both. Did I mention that I made one with the B stock K87, Paired it up with the Chinese large core BV-12 and added a dash of feedback into the equation to somewhat flatten things out. Very balanced sounding to me.1000020120.jpg1000020246.jpg
