Problem solved by rewire pots and put a lorlin overdrive switch
Now it's work i will do somes tests and mesurement with my daw
The drive is really angry i like that
i will post a clean demo soon

Thanks to all

Hi
today is a good day today :) 8) :)

My first impression after 15mn testing:

-I need more time to test it a his best
-Really take care with the Angry drive but i like it
-The bias is really subtle  :D
LPF Subtle
The 2 switch Overdrive and Tr Pk are crazy in combination with drive
-Lm350 hot after 10 mn maybe need a cooler. :(

The only thing which i find a little bad is the effects really push up the output volume  and it's really easy to go in the RED
Whatever it's a fantastic tool

I have an other set of pcb and i will do Bernd MOD pentode to triode to compare

I just rewire edcor output like input 1-2 output 7-8 this revomed a lot of noise.
I've got a hum when i boost to the MAXIMUM So i need to fix that .

Take care with the demo track especially at 2.55mn LoL
I attached a new and BETTER demo ( i turn all the pot and switch)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/wfwvqi

I will finish my other channel and test it on a stereo drums mix

A last thing
someone try to ground the psu to the stars ground to remove hum ?

Good luck :)

Hey Bernd, thanks for sharing your work, this is a great sounding unit.
and thanks to drask for the PCBs.

After  few hours testing i attenuate the HUM but still here :(
I can see on my daw meter  the return signal is stronger than the input signal in bypass and when rude tube is engaged.
Maybe someone try to put another output transformer with a lower ratio ?
Another question the output gain seem's to be very Noisy at high volume is it normal?

Thanks :)

Today i have trying to wire the xs1100  at differents ratio 2:1, 2:2, 4:1,  4:2

the return signal is too loud anyway,i will try another input transformer to see

If someone have try just let me know please

thanks :)

I like the result with edcor xs1100 at 4:1 ratio.
But let's talk basic.
If the secondary has a higher impedance  than the primary, the signal level at the secondary will be a higher  than at the primary.
Edcor have
primary
119ohm between 1-2
135ohm between 4-5
240ohm if 1-4 short:)

Secondary

78.2ohm between pins 7-8
70.6 ohm between pins 9-10
140ohm  if 8-9 short

The value are tested with my multimeter
If the goal is to down the volume i think i need  4:1 :)

finished 2nd channel.
OMG, worst nightmare.... there was this squeaking/high pitch sound all over the place...
appears to be, DI jack wasnt sorting .... and a faulty switch...
all good now,

i installed a pot, instead of clean/drive/overdrive switch...
Bias, is on switch, min, max, 0.4
fixed 20db pad on input trx.
i completely de-soldered peak modes...
pent/tri switch, with gain, and output...

i installed a pot, instead of clean/drive/overdrive switch

Have a look at the schematic, please. There is a voltage divider (470K, 470K, 60K) before the 6AS6 stage. If you take out these resistors and install  a 1Meg log pot instead, you are fine.

thats what  i did  :)

EDIT :  i actually removed voltage divider completely, and using only 1M Drive Pot. which is already in circuit.

Hi kambo
What's the problem with the pad i didn't try with it? :)

there is no problem with the pad ???
it makes the unit more controllable... thats just me...

use anything to taste...
original value is good for big fat snare/kick/bass... no harm, having couple of different values,
but, i totally removed it... i am using rudetube as VST fx, i can do all filtering, eq shaping etc from DAW...

for heater regulator,
i would recommend LM338 5amp for new builds. is way cooler (in temperature) and  its direct replacement... its only 50 cent more (dont forget the pin swap in PCB)
