You're in Canada.

I didn't want to insult your country, but it's not like Trump is anything to do with you. The rest of the world, particularly us in the US, have to bear the consequences of his actions. You don't, in Canada. You're just offended he's an *sshole you don't like.

/Yawn.

but is he really an asshole? I don't think so. He said all of this in his campaign. he said he would do all this. the only real problem I see here is the same as election night. the little utopia of clinton getting elected was destroyed.  I never thought people could be that emotional over someone who they feel is so superior. what's funny is she lost to trump who they feel is so inferior. what does that really say about her?
But  anyway this is about ocasio -cortez. the dems says socialism is  future of the democratic party. They keep using those words but I know they don't know what it really means. I really wish they would spend some time in a real socialist country and see how it really is. Then maybe they would change their mind.

Is this your attempt to redeem yourself? ...after you've had a few minutes to desperately whip something up? Something that's political, to veer attention away from the fact that you're a jerk?

Create a diversion? What a joke.

Lol, no. That was me explaining to you that I don't care what you think, desol. It's quite a show when you try to put me on the defensive. :)

You mean like Norway, the wealthiest country in the world per capita?

But you're not. You're here getting your ass handed to you. :)

::) It's like dealing with a two year old.

The member that private messaged me was right; not worth my time.

Yes, he is.

Nobody in the Democratic party is talking about Clinton anymore.  Even Clinton herself isn't really talking about Clinton anymore.  Only the GOP keeps talking about Clinton, through a twisted path of transitive logic something like: Clinton was supposed to be good, but was bad, but Trump was supposed to be bad, but beat Clinton, therefore Trump must be better than Clinton...and so on.

A sh*t sandwich is bad, but so is a vomit sandwich.  Both can be true at the same time.  No tortured logic needed.

It is, and yes we do.  I wish they would too, just to see what can be possible.  Spent a lot of time in democratic socialist countries:  i'd take it in a heartbeat.  And no it won't.

well if he is so bad, then nothing is preventing you from moving.  ::)

I'd rather have the free sh*t that currently belongs to the rich. Then they can move.

Maybe to Canada.

Funny how ignorant of American history people are when they start talking about socialism. The USA pre-depression was very laissez faire capitalist, leading to the wipeout of the great depression. All the hallmarks of that time (high debt, high wealth concentration, power imbalance of Capital and labor) are now being repeated. Why?
The Socialist reforms from 1940 on that reduced the distortion of power and imbalances of a laissez faire economy, led to great prosperity and stability in the US.
A strong middle class, great achievements due to public investment (roads, utilities, space program & technology), security for workers with SS, medicare, and a safety net.
With the Reagan Presidency, the tide switched, and after a few decades we've now returned to a much more laissez faire system. Great imbalance of power between labor and capital, extreme wealth concentration, a rise of populism, etc...
So moving back towards Socialism is imperative if we hope to have a soft landing.
I personally dislike the limits of both laissez faire Capitalism AND Socialism and prefer to keep working on the 'third way' but it's clear the move to Socialism needs support at this time, and the Ayn Rand Republicans / Trump Authoritarians need to be booted out of office.

We have some  Norwegians here. I thought they called themselves a socialist democracy?

Social democracy

Social democracy is a political, social and economic ideology that supports economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and capitalist economy. The protocols and norms used to accomplish this involve a commitment to representative and participatory democracy; measures for income redistribution and regulation of the economy in the general interest; and welfare state provisions. Social democracy thus aims to create the conditions for capitalism to lead to greater democratic, egalitarian and solidaristic outcomes.

Sounds rather dangerous. Muh freedoms?

Norway is a strange bird. An outlier in equality, civility, and prosperity in the socialist camp.
The swiss give the anti-socialist argument pause as well.  Does anyone know why it works so well over there?
Geography, climate, what?

btw for the record I felt the ULF in my big toe before the desoltandic flamequake, and was right to advise a lock of the thread.  ;D
