Thanks!  It includes some parts we won't need, but it's definitely better than 900!

I agree, though, Skylar's kit is fantastic at an excellent price point.

Cheers,

Indeed. I really just meant to point out that since the discussion about building a U47 body began on this forum, other products have appeared. The world is watching!

Indeed. Back when the original thread started, Flea was the sole option to buy a U47 mechanical kit, and it was then even more expensive than €900! (About €1200+VAT IIRC)
Everybody used that expensive product. The only 60mm cheap body donor available at that time was the MXL960 and its diameter is the only thing it shares with a U47.
Flea just had no competitors.
Skylar has been the first, and his hard work sealed the end of a monopole. For that he is a hero.
Months later, Beesneez entered the game with a way cheaper offering than Flea, and the Flea kit felt down to €900 +VAT
A coupla month ago we saw the TAB and the new Flea kit. Even more competitively priced...
And now, Chinese knockoffs are expected...

Us DIYers can only benefit from this competition, but we should all thank Skylar for initiating it!
I sincerely hope that he will be rewarded for his efforts.

But they dont seems to understand the need. Why the capsule and transformer? A body kit is what I need, the things you cant do without a propper workshop.  It would have been a lot better with cable contact.

I'm building the exact same as you. Make sure you keep us posted on progress and some samples when finished  ;D

Still waiting for the k7 capsules from Ben, almost done with psu, just need to mount in box and calibrate. Looking forward to hearing this!

Yep, the shipment was released from customs on Friday.
Our customs broker is picking it up from the dock either today or tomorrow at which point it will be handed over to UPS for shipment to us.
The whole customs procedure took 3 weeks; the interesting thing is that it took customs about 20 days to get around to actually dealing with our shipment.
Once they got around to us, it only took 2 days to get everything cleared.

It's about the same on this side of the pond. Once they get around to it, they're fast. Good to hear the bodies are on their way to you.. For those of us who missed the first wave, will there be a second one and what time-frame would you put paying for it at? I have to organize my finances and wouldn't like to miss on another pair just because I can't spring it at the right moment. No pressure though :)

Cool, thanks for the update. Looking forward to building this thing.

The bodies will be at my "warehouse" (read: garage) on Monday, and we will begin shipping them out.

There are no extra protos worth using unfortunately.

We will be discussing the second batch with our factory once the first orders have shipped out.

I really want to get batch #2 going ASAP, though.
