Id like new body tubes if possible. Mine have too small innerdiameter, which makes the mics a major pita to assemble and disassemble.

Is this a prototyping error that was fixed in the production run?

Also, what type of mic did you build Jonkan?  MK47?

Yes, prototype run... Im sure Skylar fixed it in the actual production.

Yup mk47!

If the screws holding the PCB to the rails are the issue

Find a countersink bit of the right angle 82,100,90 degree.  I am going to guess the screws are a 82 degree head in your picture.  Mark the side rails where the screws go, remove the side rails and back them up with wood etc clamp the rail down and countersink it on a drill press.
OR file angle to the slot so the screws sit lower.
Or you can try low height dome/button head screws

So, I sent a buddy of mine who is also on the first production run a note telling him that HOPEFULLY, we will be getting our microphone bodies in the next week or two and he goes: "Let's see.  There's a company in China selling them now.  They're in their catalog.  I'm checking to see if they can sell me some with my logo imprinted on them."

I guess that could explain the inordinate delay in getting this first order to Skylar.  They've been busy building their own inventory to sell.  :-\

I wonder what they're charging?

Do you have a company name or link?  I am not asking because I want to buy from China but to find out what company it is.

Sure looks like the same mic body to me.  With a shock mount, to boot.

Guess the Chinese factory decided it wasn't going to "eat" those defective bodies that Skylar sent back, after all.  At least with his batch, we know we'll be receiving a quality product - and hopefully soon.

The shock mount adapter is photoshopped.

They're just throwing this in the catalog to see if anyone bites.

I will be having some discussion with the factory about this as soon as they're back from CNY.

As someone else put it, this is "bad form."

Hope this doesn't ruin the possibility of a second run.

I guess it was always going to happen.

There are a few more U47 bodies appearing too - a budget flea kit, and one from TAB/FW.

As someone who has spent time in China, I can assure you that there is no such thing as intellectual property.  They really don't care about it at all.  Sorry to be blunt, and I wish you luck, but the proverbial cat is out of the bag and it's damn hard to put a cat back in a bag.

Cheers,

Where did you see a "budget flea kit"?  The only one I've seen is 900 Euros, which doesn't seem "budget" to me.  Is there another one I've missed?

Thanks,
