It seems the red LEDS is not so "standard" after all. Or rather: Many different types fall under the catagory of being "standard". The ones that work for me right now are 2V, 20mA, 150 mcd.

And right now the ones I found here in Denmark was these 10mm ones:

I have bought some of these 5mm ones but haven't been able to test them yet:

They're "only" 1.65V but I suspect that the critical point is the 20mA current they need, so I hope they'll work.

Just need the 6910 LDRs I've ordered to test them...

I do not know what to say
should be tried ....
with VTL5C4 / 2 are very happy with the sound
I just have to solve the  stereo problem
I'm experiencing, I'll know.....

I only adjust the threshold trimpot for the stereo?

No, the threshold trim should be adjusted for normal operation too.

The CLM6000 looks very interesting. The 20mA/2V for the LED in it matches the LEDs that I use and the LDR in it have specs not very far from the NSL6910 as far as I can tell. 6910 goes down to 100Ω where the CLM6000 goes down to appr. 500Ω like the NSL32.

Try it out and report back.

I tried everything to run in stereo the compressors
I think my problem is always the ratio calibration ...

I also have another question:
when I try to calibrate threshold (mono) get-1dB with + /-40dB (input) instead of-25dB
might explain the adjustment threshold?
trimmer R57 for stereo and mono threshold adjustment?

Set the test tone input at -25 dB and then adjust R57 for 1 dB GR.

I continued to experiment
I replaced  vactrol with silonex NSL32
I do not like the sound is distorted and far less controllable,
I re installed the vactrol and after some experiments I've seen  that 2:1 and 4:1 ratio work in stereo
8:1 12:1 20:1 no
ideas?

Well, I´m looking for a 2HE 19" panel, I don't have a 500 series rack, and I decided not to put it in SSL 5K cassettes either. I might do Volker's 51x once, but not soon. Nevertheless, your la4 cassette is looking killer, Briomusic !
