There will be a single run of 50 pcb sets and 20-25 kit sets.
Basic parts kit will include everything to bulld kinda improoved GSSL+turbo compressor.
All resistors/diodes/capacitors/IC's/Lorlin switches/relays/pots/
4x THAT2181B VCA's/all power supply parts. Molex connectors will be included.
Additions:
SC filters (all parts+Lorlin switch +ribbon cables, connectors)
MIX, or C&B (all parts + dual 10k pot+Mogami shielded cable)
LED meter (all parts, THAT2252, 4x 10-led bargraphs).
Meters are not coming with kits. Hairball audio.
Toroidal power transformer are not coming with kits.
Knobs,IEC socket, power switch are not supplied too.

EAO lenses with engraving : MIX, SC MONO, COMP IN, POWER: for free on request with PCB's.
Please let me know which lenses you need. I have about EAO 80 lenses and
if you need only 2 lenses, let's let another member to get them

The pricing for 20-25 kits comes a bit higher than I thought, anyway,
it is still in good range. Great quality components will be used.
The kits will be done in "logical" way, i.e. all resistors for
control part in one bag; all power supply bypass caps in another bag;
another bag for audio capacitors, etc.

I recommend to use B grade VCA's from same batch.
A grade not worth additional bucks.

Lastly - are you offering front panels or is this up to the buyer?

I trying to figure out cheap solution, but minimum order is 50 panels.
There are case and manufacturers at this forum. I don't want to take their bread as well

Igor, can you be more specific? Are these EAO series 01 switches you're talking about?

I used ones marked 01-281....yes, it is old good 01 family.

MS, C&B for MB500 will be offered later. I don't count much orders for this, but will
do it for my 51X rack, so, no prob here.

Same like panels. If there will be interest in at least 25 cases, they will be offered.
I can make 50 panels and use 15 of them, as I have at least 12 local customers
for full-featured MixBuzz. BTW, I got great feedback about sound from 4 of
most serious local studios here.

How difficult is the calibration process, what tools will you need for calibration?

If everything soldered correct...yes, you can go with soundcard and multimeter, it takes 20-40 min to setup. I recommend oscillator, scope, good Fluke even for simplest project to be at safe side.
BTW, I recommend good soldering iron as well

Igor, how is the build manual on this like? Is this build, newbie friendly?

Support thread+full documentation. Newbies...is my PITA, but basic version is very friendly.

What will you supply with it regards to a build manual? Will it just be a schematic, or will you have step by step process?

Yes, it is mixing clean with compressed.

What exactly do you mean by not GSSL clone? How does this sound compared to a GSSL?

the MS option - is that something that could be done externally, like "Crush and Blend"? I mean, there are many ways - soft and hardware - to convert LR to MS and back again, can I just strap those on the in and output of the MixBuzz1 (or indeed any compressor) or is the plan to provide different (Ratio- Threshold- etc) controls for the M and S channels?

MIX, or C&B OR dry/wet  dry your are compressor in bypass off  / wet your are in bypass between you have compressed and bypassed song together.


SC MONO = internal sidechain mono = one vca sidecahin for two channel

I could be interesting in front panel (the one with LED meter, MIX, soft/tight, dual...) and case.
Now some questions :

1 - what about the scale of the Led meter in GR mode ? If it's 2 dB per led like in Vu mode, isn't it to be a too small definition ? Or is it easy to work with anyway ?

2 - Does the basic kit includes additional ratios (1.5, 6, 8), soft/thigh and dual switches ?

3 - what about the Att/Rel : are they stepped ? are they continuously variable ? independent, dependent ? How do you deal with that ? What does the kit includes ?
