Ok guys,

Since we can only get started when everybody has paid his share, it would be great to get going without losing too much time.
So here's what I'll do:

We're at 16 chassis at the moment which means we're 4 short of getting a cheaper price.
I will pay for those 4 extra chassis myself so we reach the magic 20. That means I can start collecting the shares from everybody already and we can proceed with having the chassis manufactured. At the same time I will leave the feeler thread open offering those 4 extra chassis and when they're gone, they're gone.

How's that sound?

So will start getting in tough with everybody on the list now...

It would be great to share some details on which components you used on your builds.
E.g. the  footprint for the terminal strip which is mounted to the bottom of the unit is exactly fitting these:

BTW my upcoming original style Pultec chassis is done - I'm just waiting for the final prices,  so I can start a feeler for it.
as a little appetizer, here's my finished personal prototype unit. It's built using original components only except for the output transformer, which was just not obtainable. I used a Sowter transformer instead - mounted with an adapter plate similar to the ones used in our LA2A project:

There will be several options available - just the chassis, chassis + filter units on the back or chassis + filter units + all knobs
Note: the units of the  group buy will neither have the name "Pultec" nor "Pulse Techniques" engraved in the front panel since it's trademarked, but just "program equalizer eqp1-a" instead. The pics above show my personal unit I made for myself for private use.

I'll let you know when I'll be ready to start a feeler

I think you should plan the spacing store and the drilling for the Sowter set.

In the long run I don't think you could tell a difference in a blindfold test.  Less mojo surly but far less cost.

Well yes the Triad HS29 and the Peerless S-271D are very hard to find. The Triad HS56 on the input is on eBay occasionally
and I bought mine earlier this year for 80$ - which is not that much more expensive than the Sowter  substitute.

I'll think about it. I mean if the chassis is made for the original transformers you still can go back to them should you find one of them somewhere.
I'm also thinking about finding a way to get the adapter plates for a little cheaper. If we could bring down the cost to about 5 Euros per adapter it will be 15 Euros max. per chassis and you still have all options, right.
We'll see - I'll try to figure it out

BTW: Just in case you're interested - I started another feeler thread yesterday for a vintage Neumann style mic PSU chassis...
...I actually didn't see this coming hahaha  ;D

I just happened to build quite some tube mics for me and friends recently and every time it was a drag to find a nice PSU chassis that was up to par with the beautiful looking Neumann PSU from back in the days.
So I designed a prototype with my friend and built it for a MK-U47 PSU and it came out sooo nice!
Well and then we figured it might be worth posting it here for the community because there's nothing similar out there yet - at least not in terms of looks, quality and ease of use

You're on a roll!! As dumb as it sounds, I hate drilling enclosures. It's my least favorite part. I'm very happy to pay a little extra and purchase an authentic looking enclosure that is predrilled. Please keep up with what you're doing!!

Yes - well Nick only needs some adapters this time, so I don't really have to wait for his payment.
I need to wait on audiosway though...but he said he will take care of it.
I think I'll wait until Monday before I go on and place the order.

Yes these numbers are correct 

You'll need 4 of the single turret lugs if  I remember correctly

Here's a pic of my own prototype unit with still a lot of hand drilled holes

Maybe you order one or two turret lugs more in case I missed something  ;D

For the all others: Since there's more group buys coming up which I want to focus on (i.e. the Neumann style mic-PSU chassis I already opened a Feeler for and the upcoming "true-to-the-original" Pultec chassis coming in the next weeks) and I actually do need to get some work done at the studio as well...  ;D

...I decided to team up with Aaron at don-audio.com to make a limited run of LA2A chassis available to everybody who missed the group buys here. In addition to that Aaron will start to distribute the "Teletronix" branded Sifam meters through his shop as well, which is a great benefit for those living outside the US
And since don-audio is the European distributor for Dakaware knobs as well you can get almost everything in terms of hardware in one place

I'll keep you posted on the progress of the 2nd run chassis!

Just talked to the company that does the metalwork and the powder coating.
Usually it takes 4 weeks from placing the order to delivery. But it's just before Christmas and they're closed from Dec. 23rd until Jan 11th.
Their boss said they might manage to finish the metalwork before xmas but definitely not powder coating.
That will be done in the 2nd week of January after their holidays,  so the expected delivery for the powder coated chassis will be in the 3rd week of January.

After that the front panels will be sent to the silk screener - our experience with the first run tells us that it takes another 2-3 weeks until I get back the printed faceplates.

The good news is that I talked to Aaron with Don-Audio and he's giving everybody from the 2nd run of the group buy a pretty good discount on the original looking "Teletronix" style SIFAM meter!
For those of you who are in Europe that's a great opportunity!! Shoot me a PM if you're interested!
