Real simple folks, if I want to mount PCB's at a right angle to the front panel, whats teh easiest, and lowest cost option?

I saw these at mouser: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=7790virtualkey53400000virtualkey534-7790

I'm wondering if there's either a lower cost source, or some other material I could use in small production volume (i.e. very little effort to MAKE).
Bonus points for solutions that take M3 screws.

:)

Cheers

There are Cube Standoff made by "ettinger", but maybe not easily available from the US.
Or maybe this:

EDIT: there are smaller ones in Mouser also iirc

How about just using chassis mount pots and jacks? In some cases this works fine, if the parts are on each end of the board, and the board is not too heavy.

Walter, that was my first stop, but this is for a VU meter board. Nothing else but LED's.
(and I'm considering SMD LED's)

Thanks for your inputs thoguht, any other ideas?

Zayance,

what a journey you have started me on!

Okay, I found this at Keyelco (and then octoparted the best price)

Keystone 633 - $0.089 at Allied.

Then I found this:

Keyelco 7790 - $0.25 at mouser.

The 7790 has a smaller footprint, and will likely be easier to use in small run production.

But I'm the kind of character that wants them for $0.02 each! Anyone know of a chinese knockoff?  ;)

Buy some aluminium angle extrusion and cut it to length and add holes where necessary. If you use a thick enough extrusion you can tap it for m3 screws.

Hey these little PC-mount brackets are cool! Opens up a lot of design idea, thanks for digging Rochey :)

I've been a long-time customer of Keystone Electronics....standoffs, brackets, you name it.  Lots of their stuff is stocked by Mouser, etc.
