Hello All, it's been awhile but I finally found the time to put this project together in time to make a record this winter. Here's some pics for you to peruse (just before final wiring up). The power supply is inside an ammo box which is not pictured.

Thanks to all on here who helped me tackle this!

Here are the build files, including the PCB123 cad file (http://www.sunstone.com/) for the printed card

Looks really nice. I really like the woodwork and the ventilation. Are you planning on doing any engraving or anything on the faceplates? Unbalanced output?

Best,

Ben

Thanks everybody!

Yeah I wanted to do some etching on the face plates but I need to start using these things... phase, pad, 48v, gain - easy enough right?

unbalanced outputs, it's gonna sit right next to my console.

The cinemags sound really nice, balanced, I previously made a few of these (in different housings) with ampex trannies from 602's, also really nice, the cinemags are a little cleaner.

best,
Aron

Beautiful build!

How did you wire the output xlrs - with pin 3 to ground and pin 1 to chassis?  Any hum or buzz? And what is the impedance of your console?
I'm curious because I used a 10k:600 output transformer on my build, but wonder about going right into my recording interface.

What model Cinemag?
What are the big black blocking capacitors?

Very nice design.  Love everything about this design.

Its no wonder you want to use them.  You have been working on this one a long time.

what are the mini-connectors on the front for;
yep, led for the 48v

pin 3 and 1 to ground, no hum or buzz. my DM1000 is +4db

What model Cinemag?
CMMI-10PCA

The output cap? I can't remember I'll look when I'm back, I think Solen? might be 2.2 or larger
Or do you mean the electrolytics? I think filtering the voltage, I have to look at my notes... I designed this and got the parts a couple years ago, I only now through it together so I have to refresh my memory...

To everyone requesting the pcb file, I'm out of town for a few days, but will email or post here by wednesday.
