Notice that the OD is .36" or 9.1mm.
Make sure that the connectors you use can cope with the OD of whatever cable you choose.

Length?
That's up to you and dependent on the circuit.
Is there any reason to go longer than 20 or 30 feet?

I've been building these cables at 30 feet.

I bought the mogami tube mic cable from redco
http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=503
Even with shipping and customs fees, redco was cheaper than buying cable in belgium (when €1 was $1,4)

Farnell has this:

which looks a LOT like this:

same name, same colors, ...

I just received my male-cable and female-chassis connectors from conrad (thanks tmuikku!!)
It might be hard to find them on other sites than conrad.de (conrad.be for example doesn't find them)
Article codes 739030-62 and 739006-62 should do it though.

Maybe we should come up with a connector standard since many of these bodies/connectors will be used for either the mk7 or G7 projects.

If you are goin with mogami ...

You should get Gotham:

Gotham GAC-7 Tube Mic Cable

http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=706

It is the best... very transparent...

But, FYI, also is a pain in the ass to work with. That insulation shrinks back quickly.

Didn't had much of a problem with that, but i found Mogami cable well tought, with different gauges made for each task, the Gotham has only the Heater gauges thick, the other ones are all the same, small detail, but well  ::), both are for the same purpose anyway...

Hi Skylar,
I've ordered 2 mic bodies and 2 Binder connectors. Order number 147.

The Gotham that I've used had larger gauge wires for both filament and B+. I was soldering with lead-free solder and a hotter iron for that reason; maybe that's why the insulation shrunk back so quickly. Though, you were probably using lead-free solder over in the EU long before we started in the US.

Order placed!  How can I tell if I'm among the first 200 ordered?  No big deal.  Just curious.  Skylar, you are one extremely impressive dude.  Congratulations and thanks again for devoting so much time and effort to this endeavor.

The last order was #147. We're still below 200 mic bodies (albeit only slightly).

So if you've placed an order, you're in the first 200 as of right now.

I have already paid for two bodies/connectors. I hope everything´s allright.

How can I know my order#?

Skylark, you´ve done a magnificent job... Thank you very much indeed.

Me too :)

Btw: you're website and photo's are aesthetically very appealing!
Nice manual as well.

You guys are in the first 200. Everyone is in the first 200 as I type this.

After payment through Paypal, there's a link at the bottom of the confirmation page that says something to the effect of "return to Equinox Systems."

If you click on that link or wait about 10 seconds for the redirect, you are taken back to our web site to a "Transaction Results" page.
Here it reports the basic bits of your purchase like Name, email, Location, Order #, what you ordered, and Total $.

If you didn't wait for this page, you wouldn't see your order number.

What I should do is go ahead and automatically email you guys with this info just so that you have it for your records.
I currently don't have that enabled.
Your Paypal confirmation is frankly more important, but it doesn't show the order number.

So, if you want to know your order number, email:

support [at] equinoxsystems [dot] net

It´s fine with me, Skylark... I don´t want to bother you with such a triviality. Just knowing that you got your money and that I´m into the first 200 is ok.

Again, thanks very much.
