T14/1 transformers preorder is done. We changed hundreds messages with Moby about groupbuy process, payments, shipping options in other words how to organize everything properly.

We decided with Moby that we will organize another preorder of transfomers. In this case preorder of transformers which fit in vintage AKG microphones and are unavailable in these times. Moby is able to manufacture direct replacement…. Exact replicas (same dimmensions, same bobbin, same winding scheme, same color code of wires) of followed transformers:

Ü11 - fits AKG C12A cathode follower circuits
- ratio is 1.84:1
- same dimmensions of bobbins and laminations as original for direct replacement
- same winding scheme as original
- same wire thickness, same color code

Ü35 - fits AKG C414E1, AKG C414 EB, C451E, C451 EB and C452 circuits

- ratio 1.33:1
- same dimmensions of bobbins and laminations as original for direct replacement
- same winding scheme as original
- same wire thickness, same color code

Ü54 - fits AKG C414 EB – P48 circuit

- ratio 6:1
- same dimmensions of bobbins and laminations as original for direct replacement
- same winding scheme as original
- same wire thickness, same color code


This preorder is possible if there will be minimun run of 60 pcs. Minimum is 15 pcs per model. Same as in case T14, BV08, BV11, BV12 we have an idea to make some transformers available for as low cost as possible to the DIY community.

So we wanted to see how much interest is out there. There is possibility buy these transformers at pretty much cost price with the proviso that payment is up front and turnaround is about 90 days from when all the preorders are taken. Of course, it's possible unless the situation of global pandemics changes. Aprox. shipping date is first half of Januar 2022.

We need 60 orders of transformer to cover production costs and minimum orders.

Price per one transformer (doesnt matter which type) is ,- Euro.

Like in T14 preorder case 4 pcs of transformers per one preorder is maximum.

Hey guys. After few months of struggling with toolmakers I have a progress. Bobbins are ready. Laminations also, but I still work on proper heat treatment to achieve desired magnetics properties. It will take some time but it will happen soon. I will keep you updated. Cheers!

I finally achieved the right magnetics properties of the laminations. So, the manufacturing started. With hope it will happen untill the end of the January 2022

Yes. I do my best. T14/1 is available and people report about it really great.

In case you are interested in the laminations heat treatment process,
I introduce you the flow of the mass production:
1. The laminations will be collected and aligned in a box:

2. The boxes will be stacked in a rack for the furnace treatment.

3. The rack will be covered with a inner bell-shaped cover.

4. And then the outer cover will be put on, ready for the furnace treatment.
