What were they afraid of ? that you were going start trying to dismantle the plane in mid flight ?
I remember going to England years ago during the troubles , I was doing sound for friends so I took my electronics kit along just in case ,
wasnt worth the hassle in the end , having security eye me up and down like I was a bombmaker, I answered all their questions in a polite manner , in the end as I walked away I was called 'stupid Irish cunt' which I didnt react to at all , They were expecting me to get saucy with them and make their day . Of course I traveled to the UK many times without any issue .
Well the hex 2mm driver was too long. It’s tiny and blunt, will break if I torque it too hard. So that was a big no no but aparently sharp cutters I could stab a person with was ok purely by length… 🤷

There was a guy arrested on the tarmac before after he had got on a plane ,
hooked his laptop or ipad to the planes avionics system under his seat via a proprietary connector and interferred with engine RPM's ,he just blipped the throttle momentairily , didnt cause any harm ,but he proved a point .

Of course security shat their pants over the incident , and probably used it as an excuse to violate his bodily integrity and ruff him up when they got their hands on him ,when it ended up in court the man was exhonerated of all wrongdoing , and by the end of it all thanked by Boeing for exposing a very serious security flaw ,which was his original intention from the start .
Just goes to show many who secrete themselves into positions of power over others, particulary in law enforcement are just waiting for their chance to abuse with impunity , we knew that all along though ,didnt we ?

Maybe try bringing a can opener next time and see what they say about it :)

There was a couple of independantly elected politicians here who gained access to the runway at Shannnon airport a few years ago , took a hatchet with them and cut the brake lines on a 737 transporting US troops to the middle east . A retired ex irish army officer who had 30 or more years experience and knew all about the rules of engagement came to their defense , he explained in the context of the rendition fights passing through our air space , that the Irish government had the right to shoot them down and in fact allowing these rendition/kidnap fights across our territory made the Irish state itself accessory to a crime under the Geneva convention ,
He made several attempts himself to board these rendition fights at Shannon to check that no one was being held against their will but was prevented from doing so by heavy set individuals with guns who had no liscence to possess weapons on Irish soil .

My own story goes back a long time now and Im pretty sure in modern times staff would be a lot more careful about what they say to members of the public , or there would be hell to pay .

As I always say, rules were made to be selectively enforced.

Ok one of the funniest uk exports I have seen lately is Matt Berry.
For those in the uk who are unfamiliar he has had shows on bbc 4. The one that really got me started is “toast if London”. A show about an actor named Steven toast. Steven Toast, an eccentric middle-aged actor with a chequered past, spends more time dealing with his problems off stage than performing on stage.

The studio bits where he is reading copy/voice over work is great.

I received word that the u.k. Mates got into the American bourbon I gifted them.
While I am not 100% knowledgeable on British phrases I believe “bloody lovely stuff” means it is good.

I also emphasize the American bourbon because they did. Little tokens of appreciation go a long way.

Funny clip ,
I hadnt heard of him before , 4 comedy is an offshoot of Channel 4 , different to BBC , they have never the less a great rep for off kilter self deprecating comedy .
Fr Ted was brought to life by Channel 4 also, filmed in Ireland with an Irish cast after the Irish national broadcaster (RTE)chickened out of prduction due to the influence of the catholic church .

I don't think I've ever laughed harder than the episode he had to do the voice over for a gay porn movie.

I am not allowed to show any pictures of the build online... The job went very well so I could leave two days early, just one day ahead of the strike at border patrol / customs.

I really enjoyed my evening walks in the cold, just wandering around going nowhere.
