Hi,

For SSL 4k bruno's PCB, I noticed that the transformer EA 2622 (from classicapi.com) could be an alternative to Cinemag or Jensen?

The Electrical characteristics and socket are similar to the jensen 110 and the Cinemag 75101APC.

The price of EA2622 is very good! And the sound?

You can confirm this?

nobody can answer? :)

i used the EA2622 on my 2 4k's... they work, too soon for me to give an opinion as to the sound of them just yet, have only heard my voice through an atm450 through them when i was was testing them and calibrating the hpf... hopefully will have a good impression of them in the next few weeks after i get the front panels for them....

Has any one checked the 4k's polarity? i will as soon as i get a chance if no one else beats me to it. ;D

finally! someone who knows them!

on the network say that the sound of the EA2622 is much hotter than the jensen! ;)

holy f**k no! :D

Are there any other options for people living in the EU?

Tough you've listed both of em being out of stock, the OM-01-073 - 20mm - 2 gang 2k2 rev. log seems to be still available?

just ordered the 2.2k pot since it is available but what about the 47k = OM-01-080?

Is there a substitute somewhere?

Oh and my Mouser-BOM for two channels as promised:

https://uk.mouser.com/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?AccessID=ebe5815f27

Though I'm sure that apart from the few rare parts such as the MAT02 and TL052, it is pretty much flawless and complete. However, I'd still recommend you to check every entry and compare it to the bom, which takes less then one-tenth of the time I spent putting it together.

Oh, and about the missing switching diodes I kept rambling about, this is one Bruno confirmed:

Colin now has the OM-01-080 triple 47k r/log pots in stock.
Best,

awesome Bruno :)

Also, can anybody tell me where I can find instructions on how to connect the right pins for racking the unit up (+ & - V and mic in / out).

hey man, thx for the bom! i wanted to start a pair... so with your mouser bom + knobs + panels/bracket im all done?

could anybody around here help me figuring out what i'd have to do to leave out the LED function and perhaps even the filter knob?

Done couple of builds for now though I'm not that good to exactly figure it out for myself without messing it up. I'd be extremely grateful for any support on behalf of that matter :)

yup, also without MAT02 and TL052 which you'd have to pick up from eh, hold on, there: https://sites.google.com/site/diypartsstore/home

Guys's super-friendly and the prices are stellar. MAT02 and TL052 are rather rare and therefore unobtainable from mouser and such.

I see at the meter pcb a place for jumpers: DOT/BAR. Might seem obvious but does it mean that if I jumper DOT  there´ll be only one active LED at a time?
I´ve been reading LED specs and I see a "current if luminous intensity= 10ma. Is this power draw? I think I might be getting it wrong cos that´d be 180mA for  all the LEDS  and seems a lot to my no-tech head.
Could anybody clear this?
Sorry if it´s too dumb
Thx

It's not too dumb.  You are correct in both cases.  If you jumper the 2 sets of holes on each end of the "Dot" switch, only one LED will light at a time.  In "Bar" mode, you get just that, with the LEDs staying lit from bottom to top.  You are also correct on the current draw, although IIRC, it's about 8mA per segment.  This is, of course, over the 500 spec of 135mA total draw per leg.  That's why there's the option.
Hope this helps!
Best,

guys, I ordered the 9k from gustav and now I noticed that I got the 4k boards.

Is that the newest revision?

Do I have to put the lundahl transformer now on this pre?

I'm rather confused.

2 different preamps.
4K series is different preamp style than the 9K..

haha yeah, that I'm aware of, rather talking about height, length etc?

Cutting the steel right now,  though have the wrong pcbs with me (4k) and await the delivery of the 9k boards.

Thought that the 4ks might have the same length etc (boards).
