In Vietnam reporters were with US troops, not hanging out with VC and NVA units in free-fire zones. Combat reporting is a very high risk occupation. Survival depends on brains and luck. But mostly brains.

Twelve of 15 justices ruled that it was within the court's parameters to strike down quasi-constitutional "basic laws". A smaller majority of eight ruled to nullify this specific basic law, which the court said "causes severe and unprecedented harm to the core characteristics of Israel as a democratic state."

An 8/7 vote is far from compelling, and basically voting to preserve their own authority. This is not the right time to be making foundational changes to their government while they are literally fighting for the survival of their nation. So this effort has been set aside for now, for the obviously more pressing matters.

Gaza is a dangerous place these days. I doubt reporters have been targeted specifically but they have not made friends with their biased reportage, and unquestioning citation of Hamas prop.

While this has been well discussed if Hamas spent a fraction of the money they invested on building guerrilla ambush tunnels, into public infrastructure improvements, life would have been much better for Palestinians.

Israeli soldiers discovered a tunnel containing an electrical supply room directly beneath the UNRWA facility. The bank of batteries supplied power to tunnels in the area and soldiers found wiring connections between the tunnel power room and UNRWA offices above, of course that is subject to further investigation.
