I stayed awake for 24 hours waiting on the store to open, and I got one off the mic bodies.I thought it was sold out and my Internet froze,I about had a stroke, but I got one..thank you skylar, ordering the capsule next week.I am the luckiest person alive.

Hey Skylar,

what are the details on the B-Stock parts?

How many still available for New or Bstock?

thx
Gil

BStock EQU47s ended up being BStock for one of two reasons:
• headbasket has aesthetic defects (small blemishes in finish or dent in the mesh which we removed)
• headbasket top mesh is misaligned

To demonstrate how tough it is to pass our QA, I will show you three BStock headbaskets.

Left = tiny plating imperfection

Middle = dent in mesh (removed)

Right = misaligned top mesh

We have about 15 BStock units, but we cannot sell them until we have the parts necessary to build up the hardware packs that go with them. These parts have been on order for a while but should arrive next week. At that point we'll have these units available—we'll let you know when that is by announcing here and via facebook.

General stock level on EQU47 and capsules is actually good right now. I'm guessing we won't sell out until several more days, but who knows for sure? Could be fewer; could be more.

what about  B-Stock Q47-D Capsule System ? mechanical defects or aesthetic defects ?

You're right about your hi QA criteria, I almost didn't see anything wrong with the BStock headbasket in the middle.

Most Q47-D BStock is BStock because:
• it's frequency response characteristics fall outside of our min/max sensitivity range of +/-3dB from our "Golden" curve (still performs as specified on its certificate)
• it has an imperfection in the gold deposition (still performs as specified on its certificate)
• it has an aesthetic or mechanical oddity, like wire leads installed upside-down (still performs as specified on its certificate)

Here's an example: serial number EQ110028. It has an imperfection in the gold deposition on one side which is very difficult to photograph (I apologize for not being a very good photographer), but I've tried to highlight it in the middle image so that you can see it better in the rightmost image. This capsule still performs as on its certificate and still falls within our min/max tolerance—it just has a little dot on the gold.

We started with about 15 BStock of these, but there's less than a handful left. So if you were thinking about snatching a BStock Q47-D, they will be gone soon.

Hi Skylar,
will you keep us posted about when the purchased bodies are being shipped? Thanks.

of course!

We've had quite a few orders as you can imagine. Yesterday, we packed up and slapped shipping labels on about 75% of the orders.
We are processing them in the order they were placed.

I expect to have the remaining orders processed today, and everything will ship either today or tomorrow.

It seems a groupbuy already happened for shockmounts (unfortunetly before I joined the board...man, if only i've heard about this board sooner ::) too many great project not enough time ... ). We gonna have to go chinese or bm (unlikely).
Anyway can't wait to get that u47ish mic done.

Stock update:

There are only 3 units of EQU47 remaining with female Binder connector included.

There are several regular EQU47 bodies left without the female Binder connector.

We just added 15 B-Stock EQU47s. None of these come with the female Binder connector.

---

Several Matched pair Q47-D Capsules

Several Single Q47-D Capsules

Very few B-Stock Q47-D Capsules

What was  the exact type of the female connector, cannot find it -how come?

Try the MXL990 shockmount. Since that's also a 60mm mic, it should work. But don't hold me to that. I might buy one this evening and let everyone know if it's compatible.

I've heard Rycote can make a special version of their excellent Invision studio mount ( maybe the most efficient shockmount of all ) to take  a 60mm mic

I ordered one of the 24.95 ($39 shipped) mounts on ebay. Not expecting great quality, though.
