So what was actually wrong with the new samples.... Hopefully get them shipped soon

There were some blemishes in the body tube, and an issue where the inner diameter had not been fully lathed, which would make repeat disassembly+assembly more time consuming than needed.

The factory has accepted our evaluation report, and they're working on the QC process to fix the issue.
So, once that is sorted out, they will be shipping to us so that we can ship to you.
I'm still waiting for a time quote on these issues, and I'll update here when I get a date from them.

I'm sorry for the added delay guys; these things were supposed to have already shipped to all of you by now,
but there are still these little issues that I believe really need to be worked out before production is acceptable.
I hope you all can understand and will bear with me while we get the final kinks worked out.

I don't mind the wait for a first class product, Skylar, but although I've signed up for e-mail notification, I have yet to receive a single notification.  I always have to come back here to find out what's going on.  No big deal, but I thought I should let you know.  Thanks!

I haven't sent any "first batch" notifications via email because I was intending to use that avenue for updates on the second batch.
And there's really no news on the second batch until the first one is out of the way.

I could send update notifications about the first batch via email, but I didn't want to spam everyone's inboxes.

I kind of prefer posting here because it is an open, public forum.
I can answer a question once, and everyone sees it.
It's the most efficient way to disperse info.

If a bunch of people would prefer that I start sending out mass emails, I can do that too.
Just let me know what you guys think.

And I agree with you on sorting the QC issues, a few more weeks now is no biggie.

Yes, I'm surprised this hasn't come up earlier. 

I too would be interested in the imperfect samples and prototypes if you are going to let any go...

The samples have not been sent back to the factory just yet, though they do want them back.
I'm trying to talk them into letting us keep them...I'll let you guys know.

I am still working with the factory to fix the remaining problems. They have been pushing back a little on wanting to fix these issues.
At first they said it was no big deal to resolve the imperfections, but now they're changing their tune, so I'm still negotiating with them.
If you've ever negotiated with Chinese businessmen, you'll know that they're not as yielding as westerners.
We should make some headway when I chat with them this evening; I'll keep you updated.
