Ok, I've been wading through this trying to find an answer but can't seem to find one...

Why a 9 pin connection for psu?

I'm assuming that Neutrik 5 pin connectors would suffice, just like the footprint on the pcb.

if you stuff 15 pin card edge connectors, and only want to be 500 compatible, yes.
we have 15 pin card edge connectors, and the 5pin Neutriks in Stock.
it would be like:

for 51X and the additional +/-24V you need two pins in addition = 7 pins at least

I'd like to get on the list for one from the next batch of 51x rack kits, please (unless there are unlikely leftovers now). (Ptownkid and Jeff S and Owel have dealt with me; I'm good for it). Please let me know if a deposit is needed.

Cheers,

Wow, I'm a complete tool, don't know how i overlooked that...however; would 6 pole not be fine as the chassis ground could go on the chassis tab of the connectors?

Hi Sahib !
email sent about the last place on the waiting list,
I hope it's still available.
Thanks for this amazing project
Best regards,

had shot jeff a message about this via his site prior to finding myself here.  definitely put me on the waiting list for a rack and all the rack psu fixins!  i've been getting up to speed on various threads on and off for the past several hours, so forgive this question:

i saw the $320 price point for the first run, is this for:
a) just the module rack
b) module rack and power supply pcb
c) module rack, psu pcb, and rackmount psu case

if it's not option c), what is the total cost for c) looking like in rough terms?

thanks!

Grant, we don't know yet.
the USD320 has been module rack only, and it might have to increase a little bit in the future.
we will see how our three different currencies we have to work with develop, and calculate our real costs.

Received Transformer, Thanks Volker.
The package was handled pretty badly from the Post office i believe, looking outside and inside the yellow things you had putted  were totally cruched in snow in the box....
Transformer is rock solid so no prob i think....
I hate when they do that, i hope the case will be handled ok.
Don't get me wrong nothing to do with your package.

Received the case in perfect condition, and i gotta tell you that i'm very impressed of the build quality of all, picture is one thing but having all the parts in front of you, and the solid feel of them is another thing.
Big thumbs up, i always feel good working with quality material, thanks to you guys  :)

PS: I wanted to DIY the PSU connector for something else beside the one you were proposing, but i think i'll go with what you said, i think this case deserves good stuff....

Glad to hear you got it.

Enjoy building it and thanks to all of you guys for supporting us with your purchase.

How much is the kit?  Is it $320?
Yes, currently. We may have to modify this slightly after we reconcile our accounts which will happen after we complete the first 100 sales.

So will these kits be available again in the near future? ETA? I started DIY in the 500 world dropped it for 19" racks and now realize I'm crazy. I want it back!

Just wondering how soon to finish the last 100 push on the stateside. No hurry and I'm just asking if its a week or more out.

Cheers :)
