...I ordered the Neutrik connectors for 200 racks...

4400 xlrs!!!?? wow !!! ;D

reality is: 4600 Neutriks are wasting place in my living room, since I ordered 100 pieces more each to be safe for mistakes (they did some mistakes with male / female in the last order ...)
don't forget 50 PSU transformers, 35 kg of backplanes ...

I really want to have them away, thus I'm glad about all of your orders ;D

I trust the long-tailed guards are keeping watch over the parts when you are at work?  ;D :D :D ;)

Have they finished their inspection of this batch of backplanes yet??  This must be done before they can ship! :D

Fiona is doing her best. while she is alone since january, very old and handicapped with a big Tumor at her chest she is slow, but still doing her best and already finished with the inspection. this time she even counted the Neutriks, no male / female mix up like last time ;D

PS: What's up with that Tumor???
it is quite common for female rats once they get old. most are benign.
she is a strong old lady, and even it is big like a ping pong ball, obstructing walking, eating and sleeping:
she always finds a good workaround for everything and is feeling comfortable with it.

Received my power supply rack, heat sink and other goodies yesterday and I have to say the are excellent!

The rack enclosure in particular is amazing in quality.

Great work guys!  Hopefully I'll have completed pictures after next weekend :)

So being that Mike got his goods. Does that mean once payment is made the kit will be shipped? Or am I missing something? I am pretty excited about this.

I made few pre-production samples of the psu cases and these were supplied to guys whom were faithfully waiting since the first batch of 511 racks.

Second batch of one hundred  511 racks are completed and I was due to ship to Volker and Jeff today. Yesterday I checked them only to discover that the metal fabricator did a cock up with the mounting holes for 7 pin Neutrik. The hole diameter is fine but the mounting holes are wrong. As a result we started re-punching them with a plunge cutter one by one. I am also going to Istanbul with my son on Friday (yippeeee) and I will be back in the office on 18th August. I will ship their stuff on that week and they will be available for US and EC guys from the beginning of September.

silly question but for the power supply, will i need to order every thing you have listed there from the transformer to the wiring hook up stuff or is there a "just order this and everything you need too build this power supply is in there" just so I do not OVER order anything or order something i do not need and waste time n money!

Okay so the 511 racks will be available in September for us in the States. Will the power supply kit be available sooner or same time?

I have given you a list of everything to build a complete power supply right down to the nuts and bolts. You don't have to order everything. Most desired components are the pcb and the power transformer as they are specifically designed for this project but you can obtain the rest of the components locally.

Yes the power supply kits will also be available. However, please check it with Jeff as he was not very keen on dealing with the electronic components.

Volker, in regard to the "electrical wiring" bundle of the kit, what is the recommended wire gauge and what size standoffs are to be used?
Thank you very much

I don't remember exactly what I selected but it was rated at 4A. Anyhow, between 0.7mm (21AWG) and 1mm (18AWG) of ordinary copper wire should be fine.

The stand-offs should be maximum M3 or #4-40 tapped.

When you plug the P/N (261-5884) for the IEC plug into the RS site, it brings up a large (34 X 48)rectangular socket that has the IEC on top and two fuse holders built in beneath it.
