This film is no thicker than any other 414EB era capsule. The backplate is oxidized so it is nonreflective which makes the membrane appear more opaque

The diaphragms of the original CK12 copper rings I saw are almost not transparent, and the capsule diaphragms of some fiber rings can see the back plate inside.
